About Age Concern

Prue Simone Sam

Age Concern Pty. Ltd., established in 1986, is one of Australia's oldest, private, continuing professional development and training organisations, with a focus on caring for elderly people. We are also a Registered Training Organisation (21611), providing nationally recognised vocational programs.

Prue Mellor, the Managing Director, is a registered nurse with a Master of Nursing (Geront), she is also an Endorsed Provider for the Royal College of Nursing Australia and is now a Nurse Practitioner Candidate.

Her experience includes positions such as:

• Facilitator of Person Centred Care programs into organisations
• Liaison/assessment nurse for psycho-geriatric services
• Consultant to a psycho-geriatric hospital in The Netherlands
• Session lecturer for Latrobe University and University of Victoria
• Educator/consultant to a culturally specific aged care service
• Health advisor on a Trade Mission to Brunei, and
• Witness to the House of Representatives Inquiry into Indigenous Health
