Standardized Mini Mental Status Examination (Molloy et al, 1991)

Age Concern Pty Ltd has been given the exclusive licence to distribute authorised copies of the Standardized Mini Mental Status Examination (Molloy et al, 1991) in Australia.

Organisations that use the authorised copies of the SMMSE are not in breach of any copyright laws.

Rationalising & Professionalising Documentation - Legal And Professional Recommendations

On request, the popular Rationalising Documentation seminar, as developed and facilitated by Prue Mellor RN GD (Geront) MN (Geront), Age Concern Pty Ltd, is now being offered as a series of four (4) training programs for self-delivery. The first in the series is Legal and Professional Recommendations.

This session focuses on a number of recommendations from the nursing profession, the Department of Health and Ageing and legal writers that have been ignored by some organisations and individuals.

The facts may be confronting. If you want to achieve best (safe) practice in documentation, the recommendations may require significant changes in thinking and practice, leaderships skills are a must.

Legal and Professional Recommendations will be useful if you/your organisation:

  • writes a single piece of information on more than one document
  • uses words such as inappropriate, intrusive, aggressive, appears
  • still write reports at the end of the shift
  • have not recently reviewed the National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse and or the Nation Competency Standards for the Enrolled Nurse.

At the completion of the session each participant will be able to:

  • document as per legal and professional recommendations
  • list 15 words to be avoided when documenting
  • minimise documentation by reducing the episodes of duplication
