Age Concern Pty Ltd has been given the exclusive licence to distribute authorised copies of the Standardized Mini Mental Status Examination (Molloy et al, 1991) in Australia.

Organisations that use the authorised copies of the SMMSE are not in breach of any copyright laws.

One of the Directors of Nursing who continues to use the Standardized Mini Mental Status Examination (Molloy et al, 1991) as well as the ACFI tools states:

“I can unequivocally guarantee the clinical and fiscal integrity of our care plans when developed from the base data of the complete and correctly administered SMMSE. My professional and financial decision is that we will continue to use the SMMSE for care”. Mary Anne Edwards – Director of Care & Administrator.

Why continue to use the SMMSE with ACFI?

  • It is concise and provides the foundation for our care planning
  • Data is easily extrapolated for most ADL and social activity care planning
  • Time is money and it is easily converted to the PAS questions
