Productivity Places Program is an Australian Government initiative
The Productivity Places Program - Job Seekers aims to assist job seekers to participate in training leading to endorsed national qualifications so as to acquire the skills they need to participate successfully in the workforce, secure sustainable employment and play a full role in Australian life.

To be eligible for the Productivity Places Program you need to be:
- Aged 15 years or above; and
- An Australian citizen or permanent resident; and
- A job seeker:
- registered with an Employment Service Provider (ESP)
- receiving income support not currently required to meet activity test or participation requirements
- participating in the Community Development Employment Projects scheme
- not currently working and seeking or intending to seek paid employment or self employment after completing the qualification
- in one of the above categories before you entered into your Australian Apprenticeship arrangement
- not self-employed or a full-time student.
Priority will be given to applicants in the following order:
Category 1: Job Seekers Registered with an ESP
- 1a) job seekers participating in Job Placement, Employment and Training (JPET), Personal Support Program (PSP), Disability Employment Network (DEN) and Vocational Rehabilitation Service (VRS); or
- 1b) job seekers registered with a Job Network and classified as highly disadvantaged; or
- 1c) job seekers registered with a Job Network who have been unemployed for more than 12 months; or
- 1d) job seekers registered with a Job Network in the Intensive Support Customised Assistance phase.
- 2. job seekers registered with a Job Network who have been unemployed for 6 months; and
- 3. for Certificate III and above referrals, other job seekers registered with a Job Network.
Category 2: Job Seekers not Registered with an ESP
Access to the program for job seekers not registered with an ESP will be allocated a place by approved RTOs (Registered Training Organisations) according to the following priorities:
- a person who did not complete Year 12 and holds no other formal qualifications
- an 'at risk' Year 12 school leaver
- an Indigenous Australian
- an Australian-born South Sea Islander
- a self-disclosed ex-offender (excluding current inmates)
- a homeless person
- a person with a disability or disabilities
- a person who has participated in Work for the Dole
- a person who has been out of the workforce for one year or more
- a sole parent; or
- a mature age job seeker 45 years or over; and
- all other job seekers.
