Virtual Classroom

Our online delivery programs are accessed via our Virtual Classroom - a special web site where people logging on at the same time have the ability to:

• Speak with each other and the facilitators
• Write on and see a lecture room whiteboard
• See the slides of the facilitator

We call this a ‘live’ program.

Best of all, with the virtual classroom, if you cannot login at the time of an arranged ‘live’ program, you can listen and watch later, because all CPD programs are recorded (archived). You email questions to the facilitator.

We call this an ‘archive’ program.

As a participant in our live or archived programs, we provide you with the objective for each program, to assist you with your learning plan, as is required by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and also a Certificate of Attendance on receipt of your evaluation.

Requirements

You will require a computer with Internet access and a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox that is Java enabled. Java is the computer program that will allow you to speak, hear and see in the classroom and will probably already be on your computer.

The following requirements are standard with most computers purchased in the last few years:

• Windows: Windows XP (32bit) or Vista (32 or 64 bit), Pentium III 1GHz, 256 MB RAM
• Macintosh: Mac OS X 10.5, G4, G5 or Intel processor, 256 MB RAM

You will also need a headset with microphone. We provide you with a headset free of charge with your first virtual classroom program, if we have not sent one previously to you or your organisation.
